Alright so my issue here is that I've got a ps2, I've got FMCB, I have Internet, a flash drive, etc. Basically everything I need, other than a pc. Is there any way at all to set it up from my flash drive? I tried googling it but that didn't help much.

Well, after trying to show a way to do this for a friend on his ps2, i stumbled in a lot of misleading tutorials for the Usb game loading on Ps2, seeing even some people who still thinks that those usb connectors are useless

best method of playing backups on a slim PS2?
so I've tried doing my own research on this, but the only info I could find seemed pretty outdated, so I'd like to get some more up-to-date info on this...
what exactly is the best way to run backups on a slim PS2 with Free McBoot? apparently, the absolute best method is to load them off of an HDD, but that seems to be exclusive to the fat PS2. so if playing on a slim is my only option, then which would be better in terms of speed and general compatibility? burnt discs, or loading the games...

I guess my title explains most of my question. Lately I've been modding my pal consoles (md, ps1, ps2) and I came to the knowledge that using an lcd tv and rgb doesn't give you exactly 60hz because of different frequencies in the crystal oscillator. The refresh rate is only like 1% off however when using composite cables you won't get colors.

Can the PS2 SCPH 900001 with the numbers 2C be soft modded?
I have two main questions:
My first one is if I can nowadays mod the PS2, I recall trying to install free mcboot and no dice.

Best ps2 games
I know there's already the essentials thread but that doesn't do anything for me. So like since I've got my ps2, it's all nice and modded, I wanna know some good games I can buy for it. Now, I don't just want "oh buy this game it good" I wanna know what the game is, what it's about and why it's worth my time. I want to find some truly great ps2 games and i don't just want the generic top 50. Underrated gems are appreciated.

PS2 burned games unknown disk error help
I have a maxell DVD + R and I have just burn PS2 iso on DVD disk.
I have patch PS2 iso with ESR patch and when I inject DVD disk with PS2 iso in my fat PS2, I get unknown media in drive on ESR and yes I'm using Free Mcboot.
I'm sure I have burn PS2 iso right.
Exit anyway to fix unknown media in drive error?

Looking For Original Playstation Laser
Does anyone know where I can find an inexpensive laser assembly for an original Playstation? The number on the assembly is KSM-440ADM. I've bought a couple off eBay in the past, but on one, the assembliy that they sent wasn't the same -the ribbon cable was too short. The other one, the piece that the disc sits on (I don't know why I want to call that a "platten"?) was so loose that as soon as I pressed the disc on, it slipped down on the motor shaft....

YPBPR To composite or composite video?
I recently buyed a ps2 with composite cables, i connected it to a kioto crt and it looked ok, but looks like component is better, but my tv doesn't have YPBPR input, so, is better to use a component cable converted to composite or simply composite?
remember, is a crt, so the 4:3 to 16:9 and stretch-smoothing of modern tv's doesn't exist or it isnt a problemo.

Export iso from ps2 hdd?
A couple of years ago I ripped my games and installed them on my ps2 drive, now I have all my games as .01 .02 .03 ...etc file format and I have no idea how to turn that back to isos or to transfer those to my new drive. Is there a way to do this? OPL manager shows me all of the games but I don't see an option to transfer to the new drive.
I am hoping there's a way without reripping all my games again.

playing english patched japanese games on ps2 90001 model?
Knowing that I can buy myself an actual Copy of Namco X Capcom and JoJo Bizarre Adventure Vento Aureo, plus the fact one is translated already and the other is being worked on, I'm interested of getting my ps2 modded to play english translated games.
Now I've heard the 90001 is not able to use Free MCboot, so I'm stuck with either a mod chip, or swap magic to play burned games, but the questions is, what do I use for my purpose of playing imported and translated games?
