Edit: Solved. I was unknowingly trying to Unencrypt raw codes that were already unencrypted.


So I've been messing with Tony Hawks Under Ground 2 codes trying to run them from OPL and none of them seem to work or I'm not doing something right.
I've followed the guide from psxscene and reread it like 20 times. I've gotten codes to work for Devil May Cry 3 and TimeSplitters Future Perfect so I believe I'm doing it right so far. THUG2 how ever it doesn't seem to like the codes I want to...

Let's talk of this console that has been forgotten on time
Well, after trying to show a way to do this for a friend on his ps2, i stumbled in a lot of misleading tutorials for the Usb game loading on Ps2, seeing even some people who still thinks that those usb connectors are useless
So, seeing that, and using this since Ps3 and Xbox 360 wasn't even a thing yet, i decided to write a tutorial on how to take that ps2 and play your games without even needing a dvd (mostly)

James Bond - Agent Under Fire - Disc Swap Black Screen

So I have James Bond Agent Under Fire, and a CogSwap version of it on a Verbatim disc. On the main menu I load my save on my memory card for the 2nd level. It loads, I swap discs. Music cuts out. The game freezes and the Disc doesn't spin until like 30 seconds later, and when it finally loads up, there's a glitchy sound for a second and then no music. I load the 2nd level (Precious Cargo) and the disc stops spinning and cuts to black. Nothing. I use a Slim PS2 75001 and I use IMGBurn to burn...

Correct laser for PS2 SCPH-30001?

I have a pair of SCPH-30001 PS2s where on one the laser is clearly going (only reads PS2 games that are near pristine) and another where it's very far gone (only reads PSOne games, even really clean PS2 games don't work). I'd like to replace the lasers on both of these but I genuinely don't know what part I need. eBay recommends a KHS-400C laser assembly but I want to be sure that's the right one before I order a part I can't use. Is there someone who knows this stuff a lot better than me...

It's a bit junk, but it does work. I guess it was worth the $15 I paid, if only for collecting. Don't have much use for VCDs these days.

Hi all! I have an original NTSC PlayStation 1 (model SPCH-7501) that is giving me issues. I have had it stored in its product box a few years now, but decided to bring it back out to play. It has a modchip that lets me play imports and copies, but I do not know what chip. Hi. The title basically says it all. If I was to buy NTSC PS1 games would there be any way to play them in my PAL consoles or would I have to just get a modchip or NTSC console? I heard of using Popstarter but I'm not sure it that will work the same because it's supposed to be an emulator.

The idea is that I don't like having to play the slower PAL games since most were only NTSC optimised.

Hey there. Because switch cfw is taking ages, I decided to spend some time with ps2 and play some of the english translated games or something.
Among them, I started FFXII International (burnt it to a disk and running with esr) and instantly got sick of the abominable camera controls.

I found a cheatcode to fix the camera for that game

No Browser and Configuration Menu PS2 Fat

My ps2 fat will boot & show the start screen,( towers ) But no Browser and Configuration Menu screen (just black), i can play games. disc boot fine. but no system screen. No way i can set any setting. i'm at a lost of what to do. thank you for your time.,

RGB vs component cables

By RGB i mean RGB SCART, mostly. I'm not sure how to achieve a RGB signal in the US TVs.

How do you have your PS2 connected? I personally went for a set of cheap component cables and while the picture is extremely sharp, my TV requires me to use GSM Synthesiser to play PSX games (it's LG TV). It works pretty nicely tho.

Others may opt for RGB SCART which fixes this issue and I've heard produces better colour output than YPbPr espectially on PAL systems/games.

hello, been working on a ps2 hdd for a while, was at around 250 games and now all of a sudden the drive isn't read properly, it gets to sector $09A00000 and gives the "There is a problem with reading the hard drive" message.
I tried the drive in the PS2 and most of the games have disappeared, just a few left.
Tried to scan/repair the drive in winhiip and that too fails with message "There has been a problem reading from the selected hard drive".
Also tried a different cable & enclosure (1tb...

My PS2 disc drive is still working just fine even after 10 years of work, but would be better to simply load the Unlauchelf file manager from MC. I've saw a bunch of tricks and tutorials, none worked for me.

OPL hangs when trying to open USB External HDD.

Hey all, trying to get OPL to work, but it seems like it's having problems with opening my USB External HDD. All the files are placed properly (small ISOs placed in the DVD folder and larger ISOs formatted and placed on the root of the USB External HDD). Whenever I press "Start Device", it hangs forever, with the loading circle just spinning eternally. What should I do?

Was wondering, as I'm building an IDE to EXI adapter for my gamecube, which requires an old PS2 modchip (based on a xilinx chip) for some reason.
The only modchip I can seem to find for the PS2 is the Modbo 5.0. Does anybody know if it uses a xilinx chip?

Googled around to no avail, figured this would be the best place to check.
