I am planing to add a 120mm or a 80mm case fan for fix the temp problem it is having is there anyway to get 5V for make the fan work since I am having temp problem whit most game the video black out for a few secons when the ps2 get hots while playing

What cd's are best for backup ps1 games?

for cds, am I good with 700mb or do I need 800mb like some dreamcast games? I read a forum I googled saying the Taiyo Yuden/JVC cd-r are the best one's to get. That should be more then enough. Wonder if the dvd-r the same brand are just as good for burning games.
I just bought a MM3 psone with scart luma cables. Hope it's good. I did a bit of googling and searched a bit and the chip I got is a stealth chip which I need, and I may need to patch some of the games I have. Seems ok to me. Maybe....

Would anyone like to try and make an undub for Legend of Dragoon?

I'd have no idea where to even begin in creating an undub of a game, so all I can do is ask here.

Legend of Dragoon is one of the few PSX games that absolutely NEEDS an undub but hasn't gotten one yet. And I've been searching for years and no one has even bothered to really try! Seriously, if you heard the English voices in this game, you may just vomit.

Does anyone here have the means and the knowledge required to undertake this task?
I'd be eternally grateful.

So I was thinking about somthing and for all you Flashcart sellers and hardmodders take a note! Ok the GameCube had Unofficial Memcards with SD slots in them, The PlayStation2 is getting ready to be 20 years old in 2 more years (I'm Old) and for some people who want to relive "childhood memories" would get one they got the wires and the controller but there disc/memory card ect is missing

This is where a PS2 memory card with a SD slot comes in handy

You would download the FMCB installer...

Will a burned disc without ESR be bootable in a PS2 at all?

I got a burned ps2 game from a friend (For free) and i noticed it didn't boot with esr and checked it in my pc, indeed. It was not converted before being burnt. Will i be able to boot it AT ALL?

My replacement PS2 laser seems like it's not working.

I have just put in a BRAND new laser directly from ebay. I plugged it in and mounted it according to this tutorial but the laser doesn't seem to be working. It does go upwards and downwards and has control over the sled to go wherever it wants but it doesn't emit light. i saw that there's two dials on the backside of the laser and i haven't touched them at all. See the two videos of trying to boot a burned game and a legit (Blue cd)...

My replacement PS2 laser seems like it's not working.

A couple of a months ago i bought a component to HDMI converter cause the TV i use to playing games only have RCA and HDMI inputs. I use this converter with my Wii and works perfectly fine. The problem is that it won’t do the same with my PS2. I tried different HDMI and component cables, it just won’t work. I remember that when i tried to use this converter with my Wii for the first time it was not working too until i pluged my Wii to another TV (through component cable) and changed the...

Fat PS2 Not Reading Burned Games Properly

I have a fat ps2 and I have changed the laser to another one. It's better than it was but it doesn't seem to read the burned games properly. I'm going to guess it's the media (maxell). I took it apart and what seems to be happening is the laser moves into the inside of the disk and you can see it shaking like it can't read it and it starts clicking. If it gets past that part it usually seems fine reading the rest of the disc but every time the laser moves back to that spot it starts...

Mayumi V4 Issue

I have the Mayumi v4 installed in my 9001 playstation and everything seemed well. It’s loading backups and originals. After ten to fifteen minutes the system freezes and the drives clicks a few times then stops spinning. Before the install this never happened. I think it may be overheating because I have to wait five to ten minutes before it will load a game again. Any ideas?

I can get both my DualShock 3 and 4 working in OPL via USB and I think the DS3 works over Bluetooth. But can I use them in game?

The release threads aren’t clear on the matter they seem out of touch with the current daily builds functionality.

Yet people make it sound like it’s already working...

There are links to some github repos with drivers but I can’t find compiled version. I don’t have a ps2 toolchain installed and the repo makes it sound like it’s just a proof of concept.

Just wondering, is it possible to install FreeMCBoot using a game other than 007 AUF? If it's not, I really don't mind buying a memory card on eBay with FMCB installed for ~$10. Just thought I'd make sure before buying something that I didn't need to. I have loads of PS1 and PS2 retail games if that helps, and a memory card.

this question remains a mystery to me since i was a kid, did PS2 broke any TV? everytime my TV was broken (in this case, CRTs), my parents and technician will blame PS2 as the root cause. I really want to play it on a LED-backlit LCD TV so is it safe?

I'll order a disc online and i don't know the symptoms of modchip installed, my PS2 can play out-of-region games, are that one of them?

So, long ago, i made some iso's to install to hdloader. i had some emulators, beats of rage, and ulaunchelf booting from hdloader. Imtrying to update my ulaunchelf and cant seem to get the iso right. I vaguely remembering using cdgenPS2 and changing the LBA of the system.cnf to 12231. Ive checked a few tutorials on the google and followed them. Here is one example. Ive had no luck. I even extracted and mounted the existing, working iso...

Hi. I have a couple of PS2 consoles here and I have the PAL version of Rayman 1. When I run the game on my CRT TV it looks fine but it's 50hz (17% slower)

So I'm using GSM to select the special PS1 mode but there's only 2 modes and both seem to cause flicker 50hz or 60hz. The game just running in the original mode looks perfect and must be using 240p or something similar but I can't do that on GSM. It causes the game to have flicker even if it's set to 50hz with the tool even though the...
