Fat PS2 Disc Tray Issue

It seems that my disc tray in my Fat PS2 has recently started opening itself every time I power on the system. This is kind of a problem for me and was curious if anyone might have some insight as to why this might be happening. Appreciate any helpful replies; thanks

Edit: Not sure what fixed it, but I reinstalled Free HD Boot and reseated the memory card so it's actually being read, and the issue stopped. Still strange...
