PS2 infinity 1.38 Upgrade firmware Question

Hi guys,

Just got a PS2 Modded with Infinity 1.38 on it. I'm not new to modding but new to modchips on the PS2. I was wondering if it's safe to upgrade the firmware? Just downloaded INFINITY FIRMWARE V1.93 file. Also is it worth the firmware upgrade?
