Trying to play NTSC Megaman Legends on modded PAL PS1 w/ bootdisc results in weird s**t happening

I got myself a NTSC copy of Megaman Legends since the PAL copies are SO EXPENSIVE. It's a game I've wanted to play for years.
Anyway, when attempting to play it... well the first time it wouldn't load past the Capcom logo. But when I got it working... I'll just show you:
