Sony PSX DESR

Hi. Does anyone own these rare consoles?
is there any way to replace the HDD if they fail?
or can they be bypassed by a modchip or fmcb?
i just want to play ps2 games. can the ethernet port be used for games loading in OPL like regular ps2s?
